How this works

The Choghadiya

Choghadiya divides the day into 8 windows of equal length, from sunrise to sunset. 4 are auspicious (Labh, Amrit, Shubh, Char) and 4 are inauspicious (Udveg, Rog, Kaal, Rahu Kaal). The starting window cycles by weekday — your Lilavati Panchang engine computes the local sunrise, sunset, and the exact split via Swiss Ephemeris.

Why per-city matters

Sunrise differs by ~8 minutes between Mumbai and Delhi, ~30 minutes between Delhi and London, ~1 hour between Delhi and New York. Choghadiya is anchored to local sunrise — so the same muhurat starts at different clock times for each city. Most generic muhurat lists give you Delhi/Ujjain time. We give you your time.
